Glory Udoh, Founder / Chief Executive Officer, Asset Building Network, Inc. was born in Afaha Ubeh Itam, in Itu local Government in Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria. Her parents, Elder Etim and Deaconess Afiong E. Inyang, were medical missionaries with Qua Iboe Church in Cross River State and many areas in the then South Eastern State of Nigeria. From her childhood, she sensed the great calling to serve others for the sake of the gospel of Jesus Christ. At her younger age she experienced firsthand the Nigerian-Biafran civil war which caused many children and adult to die. The suffering she observed only strengthened her conviction of mankind’s need for the Savior.

At the age of 13, Glory was sent to a boarding girl school where she studied for five years in the Catholic High School on how to serve others. Glory completed her primary education in Calabar, and her secondary education at Cornelia Connelly Secondary School in Uyo. Glory was very active in school and was in the Glee Club, Debate Club and was elected as Class Prefect and Dormitory Prefect. She was much disciplined and continues to carry herself with grace and dignity till today.

Glory came to the United States in the summer of 1981 to further her education in Houston, Texas. She is a graduate of Texas Southern University class of 1985. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication with major in Radio and Television Production. She pursued a Post Graduate Certification in Biomedical Communications where she studied System Analysis and Instructional Design. Since education was very dear to her heart, she went further to the University of Houston to complete her Graduate Degree in Curriculum and Instructions with a Masters Degree in Education in 1992.

Glory has worked for both the Houston Department of Health & Human Services, and the Harris County Health and Environmental Services. She has also done several contracts with the state of Texas. The community outcry and some of the researches and grants that she reviewed, lead her to start a non- profit organization – Asset Building Network since January 6, 1999. She manages the daily activities, operations, grant & program development, financial, personnel, and delivery of direct services for needy individuals and families in Houston. She is a problem solver, and loves to listen, and seeks out ways and means to HELP clients succeed, and sees everyone through her eyes of compassion. Her greatest achievement in her own words is seeing how God can reward the efforts of a faithful servant for the glory of His name.

She partnered with the Texas Department of Health to provide children and pregnant women case managements services with specialized health conditions—particularly the mental health and medical conditions of low to moderate-income children and families in Houston/Harris County. What started as a passion to provide education, advocacy, food, financial assistance, and encouragement to needy and hurting families evolved into an effective community outreach social service organization serving the greater Houston area.
